14 May 2012 – Apple looks to be prepping for the launch of a compact version of their iPad which should arrive in stores between USD 200 (approx RM 600) and USD 250 (approx RM 750).
Earlier reports suggest that an iPad with a 7.85-inch display will be available sometime in the third and fourth quarter, with Apple watcher iMore, which has accurately predicted unannounced products in the past, backing these rumours up.
Judging from reports, the new tablet will be a scaled-down version of the new iPad, but also featuring a 2048 x 1536 pixel display. Should this be true, manufacturers such as Samsung and HTC will have to look into coming up with their own answer to it, alongside Amazon, who currently dominates the budget tablet market with their Kindle Fire.
